This first major exhibition by HELEXPO – P. TSATSIS at the Thessaloniki International Fair brought together art groups and galleries from Greece and abroad, and the works on show were of very high interest for contemporary art.
The Association of Visual Artists of Northern Greece (SKETVE) and the Union of Greek Printmakers took part. The Thessaloniki Painters’ Association made its own mark with works by its members.
With the artists’ group Orizontas Gegonoton (Event Horizon), the painter Maria Pastra made her presence felt with her work “The Toll Booths”, oil on cardboard, which refers to the modern-day odyssey of people who leave their war-torn homelands to find peace elsewhere. With her brush and her mesh, the artist evokes the halt before the crossing into other countries.
The 1st International Exhibition in Thessaloniki was successfully organised by HELEXPO and Pantelis Tsatsis, opening up a new horizon for the art of the world in the embrace of Thessaloniki.
